The world of fitness supplements can be very confusing. For a start, many people are quite unsure on exactly what they want their supplements to do. Even if you’re specific, and want to be better at running or bulk up on lean muscle, there are still so many different supplements to choose from, many of which on the surface do the same thing, but have a varied range of benefits, drawbacks and effects.
Most online articles or reviews for a lot of supplements give very little practical information. Certainly not enough information for you to part with large amounts of your hard earned cash. The fact is, a lot of supplements can be very costly for something with very little proven scientific results. You can easily run the risk of feeling like you’re buying snake oil.
However out there among all the chaff, there is some wheat to be found. Having taken an in-depth look at Cardarine, which was first formulated by Glaxo Smith Kline and Ligand Pharmaceuticals in 1992 to treat obesity and high cholesterol, we came to the conclusion that it can prove incredibly effective when it comes to building some serious muscle.

What is Cardarine?
Cardarine is a supplement that since its formulation in 1992, tests have regularly shown to have a profound and remarkable effect in increasing energy levels, increasing metabolism and increasing protection against obesity for users with a bad diet. It’s a SARM, meaning a selective androgen receptor module, which is vastly safer than other supplements, such as anabolics or prohormones, because of its lack of side effects by comparison.
As a Body Building Supplement Who Can Use Cardarine?
Any healthy person who wants to lose fat, and makes massive gains shouldn’t have any problems using Cardarine GW-501516. As far as who can’t use it goes, anyone who doesn’t want to make massive gains! But if you do have any underlying health problems or heart conditions you should speak to a doctor before starting to use any new supplement.
How Does Cardarine (GW-501516) Work?
Cardarine works by binding to the PPAR receptor. As a PPAR delta agonist, it changes the body’s fuel preference to lipids from glucose. This also stimulates glucose uptake in skeletal and muscle tissue and burns fat because it stimulates fatty acid oxidisation. This gives it unprecedented results in rapidly melting fat. It also increases HDL (good cholesterol) up to an amazing 79% on average and has been said to decrease LDL by a considerable amount too.
What Are The Correct Dosages of Cardarine?
The recommended dosage is between 10-20 mg per day, taken 45 minutes to an hour before exercise. At the start, you should aim to use 10mg a day. This is to take advantage of your body’s natural sensitivity to the new chemical. When you move onto the full 20mg a day it can be recommended that you take two separate 10mg dosages a day at 10 to 12-hour intervals as the half-life is between 16 and 24 hours. It’s recommended that for fat loss alone a higher dosage is taken. That being said, studies over a two year period have shown no slowing or decrease in the effects. It is suggested that Cardarine is run in 12 to 14-week cycles with 4 to 6 weeks off. However, as Cardarine is designed for long-term usage there is no need to worry about the loss of effects over time.
Are There Any Side Effects of Cardarine?
Although you can’t guarantee a complete lack of side effects, in all human trials at normal dosages, so far there have been NO reported side effects. It has also been tested in conjunction with drinking alcohol, smoking and stimulant drug taking and again there were no side effects. There were trials that showed a slight increase in cancer rates in mice, however, this required taking vastly more than the normal dosage, up to 1000 times more in some cases. That should provide some perspective, just imagine if you took 1000 times more than the recommended dose of over the counter painkillers. However, longer-term research hasn’t yet been done, so it’s unclear if there are any long-term side effects, but it looks extremely positive, especially when compared to anabolics or prohormones.
What About Post Cycle Therapy?
Generally speaking, for Cardarine GW-501516 there is no PCT required. Although, if you have been stacking it with other supplements, PCT may be required for the others. Cardarine is recommended to be used in conjunction with a with PCT primarily if highly toxic anabolics have been used.
What About Online and Real World Reviews?
A quick Google search provides mountains of great reviews and real-world results, most of which are overwhelmingly positive. The vast majority of naysayers online have this uncanny tendency to be promoting another supplement! It would seem the most common usage of Cardarine GW-501516 is for people wishing to improve cardiovascular performance, results are mostly reported within 2 to 3 weeks, and are very positive.
Notable reviews from Cardarine users stem from athletes that were seeking additional energy while exercising and they’ve all found that using the product gave them significantly more energy than not using it. Here are a few examples of the reviews:
“Solid Product
Noticeable endurance increases, especially when doing HIIT core training. Have not been on it long enough to comment about the fat burning/weight loss, but I definitely see a boost in my ability to push harder than prior to using this.” – Iron_Yuppie
“They Work
We got these for my partner and I have had a few also. They actually work. They give such a boost while training. If you can’t handle the caffeine in pre workout then these would be a really good alternative.” – Natalie
Is Cardarine Completely Legal?
In the UK Cardarine is completely legal to buy, sell and possess as it is not controlled by the misuse of drugs act 1971 or the psychoactive substances act 2016. It’s worth noting however that as it is not approved for medical use it must only be sold as a ‘research chemical’ and will likely be marked ‘not for human consumption’, however, don’t let this put you off, is purely a legal hang-up from the Medicines act 1968, and has no bearing on the safety of the supplement itself.
In the world of professional sports or athletics, it is on the WADA (World Anti-Doping Agency) list of banned drugs. Athletes caught taking Cardarine have received suspensions of between 2 and 12 years. Not worth it, if you want to compete, find something else.
Benefits of Using Cardarine GW-501516
At this stage, the benefits of using Cardarine should be obvious. Increased endurance, rapid weight loss, quicker recovery times and positive effects on the body’s cholesterol content. All without any of the nasty side effects of other supplements. In short, Cardarine is an all round amazing choice of supplement, no matter what your goals or expectations, short or long term.
